How eMule works today
Kad
A decentralised discovery network based on Kademlia. Once bootstrapped, it does not require a central server directory.
eD2K servers
Servers index users and sources. They do not host the files being transferred between clients.
ED2K links
Links identify a file by hash and can be opened in a compatible client. A link does not guarantee that sources are online.
Is there still an official eMule?
