The original page described a release candidate with substantial internal changes, security improvements and fixes. It should not be described as the latest version today.
Changes discussed in the original release
- Secure SMTP authentication for email notifications.
- HTTPS support when retrieving server.met, nodes.dat, IP filters and language files.
- An obfuscated first connection attempt to each server.
- Changes to Kad publication, UPnP, transfer limits and importing file parts.
- Compatibility updates for the media-information library.

Use the official community release archive to inspect the original 0.60a packages and release notes. Check whether a package is a release candidate or a final release, and back up your configuration before changing versions.
32-bit and 64-bit builds
The release line introduced separate builds. A program and any supporting DLLs need matching architecture. Do not overwrite an active installation without a backup.
