Credits are between peers. They are not a worldwide balance, a paid account or a promise of immediate downloads. Each source has its own capacity and queue.

What QR tells you

QR means queue rank: your place in a particular other client's queue. A file can have several sources, so do not interpret one QR value as a single position for the entire network. A changing rank also does not provide a dependable completion time.

Expand a transfer's source information and compare what different peers report. A source that is waiting, one actively uploading to you and one that cannot provide a needed part are different observations. Write down the status before adjusting preferences.

How uploading affects credits

When you upload to a supporting peer, that peer can reward your contribution in its own queue. A contribution to one client does not give you the same advantage with an unrelated client. Keeping the credit system enabled supports this exchange.

This explains a common disappointment: a large lifetime upload statistic does not mean every new source owes you a fast transfer. Available upload slots, useful parts and the relationship with that particular peer still matter.

Why there is no global credit score to inspect

The credits you can use are recorded by the peers granting them. Your local clients.met records credits other people have with your client. Replacing it with a file from the Internet will not create a legitimate worldwide balance for you.

Client identity and its authentication files matter when preserving an installation. Follow the backup and PC-migration guide before reinstalling or moving folders. Treat the configuration as private data rather than posting it for somebody to inspect.

Separate local priority from a remote upload slot

The documented upload score takes waiting time and rating modifiers into account. Credits and the upload priority assigned by the source are part of that calculation. A priority you select for your own download cannot order a remote computer to create another upload slot.

Use priorities to organise your own workload. If everything is marked urgent, those labels give you little help deciding what should receive attention. Automatic priority is available in the file preferences of standard clients; understand its purpose before overriding every entry.

A useful way to observe a waiting transfer

  1. Confirm that the file has useful, reachable sources.
  2. Read the individual source states rather than just the overall speed.
  3. Leave the client connected long enough to observe changes.
  4. Check for a paused file or a local disk error.
  5. Investigate Low ID if reachability is limited across many transfers.

Repeated reconnections and a succession of configuration resets make that comparison harder. They do not supply a missing part or allow you to control another person's connection.

What credits cannot fix

Credits cannot recover data no participant offers, repair an unavailable drive or remove upload congestion on your own line. Share only appropriate files you are entitled to distribute, keep reasonable upload headroom and diagnose the visible symptom. Use the download checklist when several transfers stall.
